Types of Licenses.
Retail
For producing and selling licensed consumer products at retail in local, regional, and national retail outlets. These outlets are defined in the license agreement as approved by each university.
Internal (Non-Retail)
For producing and selling licensed consumer products to university departments and campus organizations for internal/non-resale use only.
Before You Apply.
- Determine which license type fits your business — Retail or Internal (Non-Retail).
- Identify the institution or institutions you wish to work with.
- Be prepared to complete the online application in full through the BrandComply portal.
- Review the license agreement terms provided during the application — approved retail outlets and usage are defined per university.

Once submitted, your application is shared with the appropriate universities for their review.

Each university will inform you of its respective decision in a timely manner.

Common Questions.
A Retail license covers producing and selling licensed consumer products at retail in local, regional, and national retail outlets, as defined in the license agreement approved by each university. An Internal (Non-Retail) license covers producing and selling licensed products to university departments and campus organizations for internal, non-resale use only.
All applications are submitted online through BrandComply, the secure licensing portal used by Nexus Licensing Group. Use the “Apply for a License” button at the top of this page — it will take you to BrandComply to begin.
Each application is reviewed by the individual universities it concerns, and each university communicates its own decision. Nexus Licensing Group facilitates the process on behalf of our client institutions.
